To My Daughter… Love, Her BSB-Loving Mama

An open letter to my daughter, Leighton, on my 2nd Mother’s Day…

To my sweet baby girl,
I always wanted a daughter to grow up with as my best friend; and I got my wish- my perfect girl. From the second I felt you move in my belly, I knew that you loved music just like me. Every time music would come on, you would move around and kick, and I would instantly feel pure joy. And trust me (pun intended), we listened to a lot of Backstreet Boys together.

I took you to your first BSB concert when you were 6 months old in my tummy and second was when you were 7 months old. We danced to their music together, and I was so blessed to have you there with me. We got our first VIP picture together then, and it was a great experience for me; something I always wished I would share with you. Also, it was a reminder that I have celebrated yet another milestone with the Backstreet Boys. They and their music are such a large part of my life, and it’s always been my dream to get to share it with my daughter. It was such a full circle moment for me from starting out 22 years ago when my Mom took me to my first BSB concert.

Sure enough, once you were born, you were calmed by music, especially the song, “Drowning”. Funny enough, that is one of my favorite BSB songs and was going to be mine and your daddy’s wedding song (but it got beat by a non-BSB song lol).

Now that you are a toddler, you have such an amazing, big, personality and love to dance at every chance you get (especially to BSB); It is infectious, and I can’t help but dance along. I can’t wait to keep dancing through life with you, and to watch you grow and be this happy forever. I can’t wait to take you to your first (of many) Backstreet Boys concerts and meet and greets, just as my mom took me growing up. I can only hope, as your mom, that you find something in life that brings you as much passion and joy as the Backstreet Boys have brought me growing up. I love you more than you will ever know, and I am so grateful to you for making me a mother.

Love you always and forever,

Your BSB-Loving Mama

The Basics: Cruising With The Backstreet Boys

A lot of you have asked us about the basics of events. What can I expect? What do I need to know? How does this work? So, we’re putting these posts together as a “bare bones” reference to get you started. If you can’t find the answers to what you’re looking for in these posts, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email or social media!

So you’re going on the Backstreet Boys Cruise…

Must-Know Information

giphy

Online Check-in:

Check into Carnival online using the confirmation number that will be provided to you when your itinerary is emailed (about 2 weeks before). We recommend you check in as early as possible to ensure things run smoothly. The absolute latest you can do so is midnight prior to the cruise.

giphy1

Arrival:

The boat doesn’t leave until 4:00PM, but we recommend you get onto the boat AT LEAST 2 hours before that, especially if you want to eat lunch on board. All guests must be on board the ship no later than 60 minutes prior to the published sailing time (printed in the cruise documents). There are multiple ways of getting to the terminal (Drive, Uber/Lyft, taxi, shuttle, Carnival airport transportation). More information about transportation here .

giphy2

Luggage:

When you arrive at the terminal, you can check your bags with a porter (up until 2:00PM) and carry on what you will need until your stateroom is ready (around 1:00PM or later. PS you may or may not be able to get into your stateroom before the sail away party at 4:00). Guests arriving after 2:00PM will be responsible for taking all of their bags on board.  Each checked suit case and carry-on suit case should not weigh more than 50 pounds, and when lying flat, bags must not exceed 16 inches high by 24 inches wide (the length of the bag is not a factor). For security screening purposes, all luggage should be unlocked. Personalized luggage tags are included in the guest’s Electronic Documents, through Carnival’s web portal, www.carnival.com/mydocuments. It is not necessary to print the tags in color. Carnival luggage tags must be affixed to your baggage prior to arriving at the terminal.  Additional tags can be obtained at curbside from the porter. Porters will re-tag any luggage tag with a TBA cabin assignment. Curbside porters are customarily provided a $1 tip per bag.

giphy3

Check-in:

At check-in, you must personally carry on and present your all of your travel documents, including your boarding pass, picture ID, citizenship documents (including any necessary visas) and completed Health Questionnaire. You also must carry-on any valuables or medications and items which require special handling. After you board the ship, you can eat lunch in the buffet or wander around the ship enjoying all it has to offer. There will be a muster drill around 3:45PM which all passengers must attend, and then head straight to the Lido Deck for the Sail Away party at 4:00PM!

giphy4

Money / Budget:

Shore Excursions/Tours: $40-$300 per person. You will be able to view these on the Carnival website once you check in. If you want to get an idea of which shore excursions *may* be offered, you can search on the Carnival website under shore excursions for “Grand Turk”. Please keep in mind, these may be different or limited on our cruise since it is a charter cruise.

Spa services: $30+. Sometimes there are spa specials, especially on the day we’re in port.

Merch/Souveniers: There will be a store off the lobby with cruise-specific merch. It has been known in the past to sell out relatively quickly, so if you see something you like, don’t wait!

Soda/Alcoholic Beverages/Specialty coffee/Drink package: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2633

Gambling: There is a casino onboard, which you pay for using your Sign & Sail Card.

Personal Items: There is a gift shop with Carnival merch, over the counter medicine, snacks, alcohol, etc.

Sail & Sign is Carnival’s cashless on board credit program, which allows guests to charge onboard purchases. The Sail & Sign Card must be utilized for all money transactions on board as cash will not be an accepted form of payment. More information can be found here.

You can also purchase Cruise Cash (similar to a gift card) on Carnival’s website prior to boarding. Guest Services can provide guests with a balance update at any time throughout the cruise. In addition, guests can view their balance update at a Sail & Sign Kiosk .   This can be set up beforehand or upon check-in.

giphy5

Days at Sea

Be on the lookout for your cruise itinerary, which will include all of the events on board. All of the events are optional, but of course we think you should go to all of them, since they are guaranteed to be amazing. When there are no events, there will be downtime for you to do things on board (e.g. pool, spa, activities).

At Port

When we dock at the port of Grand Turk, you can get off the boat as early as you want (don’t forget your Sail & Sign card, which is the only thing you will 100% need). You shouldn’t need your passport, but feel free to bring it if you feel more comfortable. You will need cash or credit card if you would like to purchase anything on the island of Grand Turk. If you are not going on an excursion, there is plenty to do in the port of Grand Turk, such as a beach, large pool, Margaritaville, and shopping. Once the itinerary comes out, we will know if BSB have any events planned for us while at port or if we are free to explore.

giphy6

Debarkation

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. You can find information here regarding how to go about getting off the ship. How to battle PCD (Post-Cruise Depression not included).

If you have other questions, feel free to contact us, visit our Cruise page, or visit the official BSB Cruise page!

10 Ways Fans Display Their Backstreet Memorabilia

We wanted to see how other Backstreet fans displayed their VIP laminates, concert tickets, autographed items, or any special BSB memorabilia now that we are grown (and know what our parents were mad about when we taped things to paint).

….And you guys answered! We loved seeing everyone’s creative differences.

Enjoy (and become inspired)!

“I have created photo collages that are displayed in my lounge room, I have often been told “wow you have more backstreet boy photos on your wall then wedding photos”. My book case proudly displays some of my keepsakes.” – Ree

Elia Esther Jaimes Jimenez, fan since 1997, has QUITE a collection down in Mexico!

“Since the past years, well since I had my first VIP photo with the boys I started to put the photos instead of posters. So this happen in 2008 when I had my first VIP photo.

Today my room has photos with each boy and 3 with all of them. My favorite is the big one, the VIP I shared with my sister in Las Vegas.

I also have the laminates hanging in the cover of my guitar hero’s guitar (Yes the one from the video game Guitar Hero). The first to signed it were Howie, AJ, Brian and Nick in the Unbreakable tour here in my city Puebla. Kevin signed it for me, even he wrote my name, he did it on the BSB Cruise 2016.” – @fabysc

“I have been a huge Backstreet Boys fan for as long as I can remember. Love these five guys so much! Will always be a Nick girl! Here’s how I show off all these amazing memories!” – Shanna

“I display mine proudly at my desk at work. It is my mini shrine complete with tickets, lanyards, autographs, my photos with the boys and friends and family. Some stories from my BSB shrine include the last thing I did with my mom. In July, 2011, we went on a 3 day, 3 city adventure seeing NKOTBSB in LA, San Jose and Las Vegas. The LA show was my first time meeting the boys. It was fitting that my mom came with me because she was my biggest Fangirl supporter and knew how much it meant to me. When they did their Millennium tour, the best tickets I could get were the very back row. The day of the show she surprised me with 5th row tickets and my teenage heart almost exploded. Anyways, about 4 weeks after we returned from our NKOTBSB trip, she passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. It was tragic but I am so grateful I was able to have that adventure with her. First time meeting the boys, 3 shows, front row in Vegas and they pulled me up on stage and sang to me. All these amazing memories with my biggest supporter. It will always be a precious memory. On a lighter note, you’ll notice pictures with my bestie, Sable. BSB and fate brought us together. We are both from the same city, both went to the first round of IAWLT in Vegas (concert and soundcheck party) alone. We ended up in line next to each other and chatted. 4 years later, we are besties, always have a buddy to travel anywhere, anytime, as many times as we need to see the boys. We’ve also traveled Europe together and are the best of friends, all thanks to our love of BSB.. I love the boys, their music, the fans and all the love and support that comes along with being a proud member of the BSB Army. I’m so excited for everything to come and for all the new tickets and lanyards I plan on adding to the shrine. KTBSPA!” – Taryn

“I made this shadow box after IAWLT. I wanted to somehow display the poster with my name on it. So…what better way. This tour holds some amazing memories for me. I can’t wait to do the same with my Vegas poster and passes when it gets here.” – Melly

“This is my latest display for my VIP stuff.” – Carrie Graham

IMG_20170909_185942

“I only have some M&G photos and posters, but in the past few weeks, I found a way to display a few of the special items I have.

I have a baseball signed by all 5 guys from the 2016 cruise. My roommates and I dressed as members of the Rockford Peaches from A League of Their Own, so we happened to have baseballs on us. Long story short, we ran into one of the Boys’ friends, who liked my roommate’s outfit and commented on the baseball. We said how we’d love to have them autographed, and she said she’d make it happen. And she did! I placed this in a baseball display box.

I also got some playing cards, one of them signed by Howie. I found a backless frame and put 2 cards in their to display it.

And when I saw the Boys in Vegas for my birthday in March, I brought a sign that read, “May I have a rose for my birthday?” I was front row on the side, and Howie saw me (though I almost didn’t!) and tossed me his rose. It landed in the pit and a bunch of girls grabbed for it. A guy got it, and I remember him explained to what must’ve been his girlfriend or wife that the rose was meant for me. Much to her dismay, he gave me to rose, which by then was in 2 pieces. I dried it out and mounted it in a shadowbox.

Now I just need to figure out what to do with this bottle of water that Nick left on my table when I saw his final All American tour show in Nashville last year.” -Laura Fu

“I have my VIP passes and wrist bands and stuff in a cool thing I made for them. I have a ticket photo album for my ticket stubs. My favorite memorabilia that I have displayed are the custom kicks that Brian made me and gave me on the 2013 cruise.” -Amber America

10 Basic Tips For The BSB Cruise

You booked the Backstreet Boys cruise …So now what? Luckily, we are here to offer you a few tips! We will be rolling out more specifics for the next year, but we thought a general post was a good place to start. To read all of our cruise-based posts, go here.

1. Get Excited!

We’re goin’ to Miami!

Yes we still have a year, but it’s all we can talk about… what about you?! More time to plan!

2. The Wait For Theme Nights Begins…

These will come out in the months leading up to the cruise. Be sure to check your email, and follow the Backstreet Boys account on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. In the meantime, you can plan your other outfits, and even customize shirts for your group of friends. It will be warm outside, so plan for summer outfits. Keep in mind, the decks outside can get windy at night, and it is usually very air conditioned inside the ship, so make sure you own enough sweaters. If not, you can always buy some BSB merch on the ship!

Also, keep an eye out for a WHOTB post where we hypothesize future cruise themes!

3. Start Planning Your Door Decor!

Every year thus far, there has been a door decorating contest. It is totally optional. Some cruisers go all out, and some do not do anything– it is totally at your discretion. However, it is very fun to participate in! Previous prizes have consisted of autographed merch, VIP passes, and other amazing things! Plus, it is fun to walk around and look at other fans’ creativity, and it makes the cruise more festive.

4. Research, Research, Research

You can never be too familiar with the ship. Find your co-cruising friends and map out what cabins they’re in. A cruise map will be provided to you when you check in at the port, along with your wristband with your group, row, and seat number for the theater.

Dining: Group A = Early dining = Eat at 6:00PM if you’re eating in the dining room. Group B = Late dining = Eat at 8:15PM if you’re eating in the dining room. You can also eat in the buffet at any time it is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Keep an eye out for your itinerary, which will be sent out about 2 weeks before the cruise. This will tell you what times everything is happening for both Groups A and B.

5. Don’t Forget To Pay

This is important because… well.. you need to do this step in order to make it on the cruise. At the time of booking, you chose your payment plan. Familiarize yourself with it, and remember, you can always make extra payments before the due date. If you need to change your credit card information for any reason, call Rose Tours. Keep in mind, all food in the dining room and buffet is included on board the ship, however any extras, such as alcohol, spa treatments, specialty dining, merch, and everything at port is all a la carte. Therefore, you may want to consider putting some funds aside to pay for these.

6. Book Things.

Airfare: Monitor airfare for prices and which dates and times work best for you. Yes, you can fly in the day of the cruise, however, from personal experience, I like to fly in at least a day before to ease my stress. In addition, check your passport/travel documents now and make sure they will not expire before you come back from the cruise. Make sure to check your state/country travel guidelines regarding required travel documents sooner rather than later!

Pre-cruise Hotel: There will be a pre-cruise hotel announced through Rose Tours with a special rate where many fans will be staying. If you would like to book a different hotel before Rose Tours announces theirs, then feel free.

Excursions: Grand Turk has a beach, shopping, Margaritaville, and a huge pool right at the cruise port, so luckily you do not have to go far to find a good time! If you would like something different, you can choose to book an excursion through Carnival’s website. As of now, the boys are not scheduled to be at the pool party, however this is subject to change.

7. Oh Snap! Invest In A Camera.

This one of course is truly optional. Phones will work just fine. However, at times, it may be dark or you may be far from the boys (like at deck parties), so you might want a camera for these certain circumstances. Also, you may want an underwater camera or waterproof case for those times in the pool or at the beach.

IMG_6703
An example of how dark the deck parties can be (and yes, and excuse to post a picture of Nick like this)

8. Stay Calm.

I cannot stress this enough, because I have seen this way too many times. Yes we all get excited, especially while on the cruise, but PLEASE remember: stay calm, stay civil, and have fun! The boys feed off of fans’ behavior. If fans are acting crazy, the guys won’t come around as much, and in turn, everyone will see less of them.

9. Choose Your Photo Friends.

On the cruise, you are guaranteed one group photo with the boys. The rules are you HAVE to have a group of 4-5 people and they MUST be in your dining time/group. If you have early dining, you will be group A, and if you have late dining, you will be in group B. Yes there is still a year until the cruise, however it is your choice if you want to secure your group early (keep in mind, it might change if someone cancels, etc) or wait until it gets closer. You can decide to either group with your friends, or befriend a group online so that you can stand in-between / next to your favorites.

10. Sleep Now.

You will barely sleep on the cruise, except maybe for a cat nap here or there… so rest up now while you can! I will not post an actual picture of what I looked like after the cruise, so just trust me on this one.

Happy planning!

Everything You Need To Know About Booking The Backstreet Boys Cruise

So that time has come again for another BSB Cruise and we are SO excited! Here is a step-by-step guide to booking BSB Cruise 2018, and a breakdown of everything you need to know – because it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Do Your Research On The BSB Cruise Website

giphy

Rose Tours, the company in charge of running the cruise, is great about laying everything out that you will need to know, so nothing comes as a surprise. Give it a nice long look-over so you know exactly what your getting – what is included and what isn’t.

Also, familiarize yourself with the ship to see what amenities are on board, and to get a feel for where you would like your cabin to be. We will be sailing on the Carnival Sensation.

2. The Cabins Come In Single, Double, Triple, Quad

giphy1

If you do not have a roommate or roommates lined up, you can participate in the roommate match program, where you will purchase the type of cabin you want, and Rose Tours will match you up with a roommate! This is a good program to participate in if you are looking for a roommate. All of the information about Rose Tours’ roommate match program is listed here.

Another option for finding a roommate is looking in the Fan Club or social media groups to find people who are looking for roommates. Regardless of what you decide, before booking day, you NEED to know first or second priority options of who and how many people you are rooming with. You can choose how many people you want in your cabin based on the prices, and what type of experience you would like.

The major options of staterooms from cheapest to most expensive are interior, oceanview, balcony, and suites (which have balconies). The different category name of stateroom is just the type of stateroom it is and where it is located.

Screenshot (15)

EXAMPLE: if we look at cabins 1AB and 1A, they are the same type of cabin. 1AB is “Inside” Upper & Lower, which means that the beds are upper + lower, instead of side by side (just a different layout), however 1AB is only available on decks 4 & 5 midship or aft and only available as a double, whereas 1A cabins are available on decks 6 & 7 midship or aft, and are available in all combinations of roommates.

If you want a more detailed explanation of where you cabin *might* be, you can look at the deck plans here. The different room categories are color-coded, and you can match up the room type you want with the location on the ship. It’s like a fun game or puzzle, if you’re into those kinds of things!

3. Booking Time!

giphy2

Once you choose your top choices (I usually recommended 2 or 3, just in case your first choice isn’t available), it is time for booking! But first, there are a few things that you MUST have ready at time of booking:

  • You must have an account with Rose Tours (you can sign up here). EVERYONE going on the cruise needs an account, even if you are not going to be the one booking.
  • If you want to be one of the first to book (remember your seats in the theater are assigned based on time of booking), I suggest you join the BSB Fan Club, unless you already have previously cruised with BSB. Fan Club members and past cruisers get the privilege of booking first on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 12:00PM EST. You will be emailed the presale code some time before then (exact time is TBD). All remaining cabins will be available to everyone else to book on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 12:00PM EST and do not need a code.
  • One person books the cabin for everyone in the cabin. More than one person in the cabin can look for cabins, however multiple bookings are not allowed. Therefore, the designated booking person in the cabin should have everyone in the cabin’s ACCURATE full name, email address, home address, phone number, and credit card information, and emergency contact. If they already have an account, then most of this information should come up, but I would have it on hand just in case. You have the option of putting everything on your credit card, or splitting the payments between roommates.
  • I suggest you book on a computer, if possible, and have the booking screen, and the deck plans up on a split screen. Here are pictures of the booking screens and what to expect as you go through the booking process. PLEASE look through and read thoroughly to increase your chances of a smooth booking process.

If you have any other questions or concerns, Rose Tours has a FAQ on the BSB Cruise website. I cannot stress enough to read and research as much as you can prior to booking. Good luck everyone, and happy booking!

Can’t wait to see all of you on the cruise next year!

Say What?! 34 Misheard Backstreet Boys Lyrics

Thank you for all of your submissions! We’re so happy to find fellow fans who have heard song lyrics incorrectly, as we have done this quite a bit (you’ll see in the post)! How do some of these even make sense? We’ll never know!

…But they’re hilarious, and we’re so glad we misheard them.

Backstreet Boys

Us French speaking fans from Quebec heard a French phrase: After they sing, “Time for me to let it go!” and the instrumental dance break.. AJ lets out a “Jam on, jam on..” before they start singing again. We all heard, “Je suis mort, j’ai une blonde” (l’m dead, I have a girlfriend!) lol.. Mind you we were 14 and secretly wished we were their girlfriends haha. – We’ve Got It Goin’ On

– Anne (@Banana_Anne )

I always had no idea what AJ sings before “SING IT AHHH!” Is it “Send the crazy wildin static?” What even is that? Anyone? – We’ve Got It Goin’ On

-Kristie

I speak French, so I did mess the lyrics up quite a bit before!! In “Get Down”, the second verse when Brian says, “I feel like heaven when I look in your eyes”, I thought he said “I feel like Kevin when I look in your eyes” LOL! I was like: “What? Why is he like Kevin? I know they’re cousins but still!!” Loll! – Get Down

– imjustagirl25

“I feel like Kevin when I look in your eyes.” – Get Down

-Britt

I always thought AJ sang “As I waltz by you will get to know me…” I only learned the real lyrics recently, but I can’t unhear my version.  – I’ll Never Break Your Heart

-@xochrstne

Back when the song first came out, us French speaking fans from Quebec heard: “Je lis dans mon bain..” (I read in my bath) when AJ says “a little more, better.” – I’ll Never Break Your Heart

-Anne (@Banana_Anne )

Backstreet’s Back

“Oh my God we’re back again – brothers, sisters, everybody INSANE” – Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)

-Mel

“I don’t have a fantasy ‘cause to get to you I’d walk a thousand miles” I was like 10 years old lol – All I Have To Give

-Melissa Lamb

“But my love is all…” I thought it was “put my heart and soul is….” – All I Have To Give

-Tania

Each time I hear the song “Like a Child” with my Mum, we can’t help laughing because the first time she heard it she told me, “are they singing Jackie Chan ??!?!!” – Like A Child

-Delphine Zuliani

“Close your eyes and imagine the stars…” and “I get lost, lost inside your world… When you do the things you do…” Man, I really messed up the lyrics to this song … sorry! – Hey Mr. DJ (Keep Playin’ That Song)

-Kristie

Millennium

Back when we had a crappy car radio I thought Larger Than Life was a song about a guy named Roger! – Larger Than Life

– Shannon W

Now I know the correct lyrics of course, but when I was younger, I always sang, “But letme tell you now, there are prices to pay, alright…” – Larger Than Life

-Kristie

When I heard I Want It That Way, I thought for the longest time that it was “Ain’t nothin but a party…” And at AJ’s part when he sings, “Yes I know that its’ too late,” I thought he says “Decido”. I know it sounds really stupid but I never really realized how weird it was ‘cause well…. it’s a freakin’ BSB song!! – I Want It That Way

-KTBSPA

[Side note: Even though we may now know all the words to IWITW, we still do NOT know the meaning of that song what so ever. No matter how many times we’ve tried to decode it. LOL]

I always thought it was, “Beauty Rose to an endless love” instead of “Guilty roads to an endless love.” Whoops – Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely

-@ cjg_tt

I always heard “Can feel my feelers one by one.” LOL what even. It doesn’t even make sense! –It’s Gotta Be You

-Kristie

“I loved you from a distance star, I couldn’t reach that far…” Again, makes no sense. haha –Spanish Eyes

-Kristie

Black & Blue

There is a verse in The Call that goes “I called up my girl and said…” but I always sang along with my own made up lyric that went got my girl from *NSYNC. Honestly I never could make out that line so I just made up my version of it for the longest time! – The Call

-Jaime

“The day is done, nothing’s been won…” – The Call

-Kristie

It’s only recently that I’ve learned to love Get Another Boyfriend. Actually, it’s not that I misheard the lyrics, but at first I can’t sing along to Nick’s line “or was it all the promises of diamonds, pearls and party dresses that turned you on?” So every time it plays, I mumble the words, and all I can clearly sing is “…that turned you on!” Until now I have difficulty in singing that goddamned line. LMAO!! – Get Another Boyfriend

– Faith

“Baby he would say whatever… It takes to keep you alive.” LOL I guess this is what happens when you learn the song lyrics before you even know about love/relationships. – More Than That

-Kristie

The Hits: Chapter One

During AJ’s part in Drowning, I thought he was saying “I don’t need another lover” instead of “I don’t need another lifeline!” I thought that for many years until I read the lyrics lol. – Drowning

-@DonnaVitale4

Never Gone

Then my heart did time in Siberia…Was waiting for the light to come through.” – Siberia

-Kristie

Even though I know the real lyrics, someone once told me they misheard these lyrics, and now I can’t unhear them LOL: “I haven’t changed a thing since your lobotomy.” –Last Night You Saved my Life

-Kristie

Unbreakable

In “Everything But Mine” I literally thought they said, “You’re the cum that my world is drenched in.” I was like, “Ok, Backstreet Boys are getting dirty!” But, nope, just me… – Everything But Mine

– KDiddy1029

When AJ sings “Everything but mine… Mine I know, oh baby.” To me, even know, it sounds like he’s saying “Shalom” at the end of the second line, which, as an Israeli fan, I’m very happy about. – Everything But Mine

-@yael1983s

Ongoing debate between my friends and I: “I’m a house of cards in a hurricane… Wreckless fire in the pouring rain.” For the record- I’m on the side of “Wreckless ride.” – Helpless When She Smiles

-Kristie

This Is Us

Another ongoing lyric battle between my friends and I: “Straight through my heart… same old bullet got me”. I’m pretty sure the more popular lyric choice is “single bullet.” – Straight Through My Heart

-Kristie

“Just lend me your bladder, I’ll try and measure up” instead of “just let me make it better, I’ll try and measure up…” –Bigger

– Elise (dutchieelise)

“The scissors, the scissors, the scissors, the scissors, the scissors, the scissors, let the world know baby…” – This Is Us
– Carolina Molina (@molinacarol)

[Sidenote: We obviously know the correct lyrics to this one, but that doesn’t mean that we still don’t hear “The scissors” EVERY time. Betcha you can’t unhear it now.]

I don’t know what this means, but I heard it: “Won’t go on high overload… Show your face to me with could be everything.” – Masquerade

-Kristie

In A World Like This

“Rise up, rise up, rise up Madeleine. The son of a mannequin.” Don’t judge me please – Madeleine

-@xHarmony1997

Of course I sing “Show ‘em your tomatoes”, just because it is more fun haha – Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of

-@ cjg_tt

I saw some videos about the boys singing like this and I can’t sing correctly anymore lol “Show me your tomatoes”. – Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of

– Carolina Molina (@molinacarol)

Have You Misheard Backstreet Boys Lyrics? Tell Us!

UPDATE: Read the post here.

So remember that time when you were in elementary school (or somewhere around there) and heard a BSB song for the first time (or 500 times)?

Did it really matter then what they were saying? They were just sooooo dreamy *sigh* …

Well, they still are dreamy, and we know NOW that we’re older we can relate to their lyrics more than ever (and are hopefully singing the correct ones)!

We want to hear from you—what are the most common or funniest misheard lyrics that you thought they were, or are still convinced they are? I know my 9 year old self has quite a lot…

Can’t wait to hear what you all used to (or still do) sing!

5 Reasons Why We Are #Thankful for The Backstreet Boys Right Now

bsbdwts

‘Tis the season to be #Thankful. Here are 5 reasons why we are thankful for the Backstreet Boys this holiday season.

1. Black Friday Sales (And New Merch!)

Who doesn’t love Black Friday shopping?! Well, lucky for us, Backstreet Boys and Nick Carter have all of their merch on sale on their websites through 11/28! Click here for Backstreet Boys and here for Nick Carter. Don’t forget– they make perfect gifts for your friends and family!

2. #BSBVegas

While you’re in the process of online Black Friday/Cyber Monday, don’t forget to book your tickets, hotel, and airfare for BSB in Vegas. It will be here before you know it, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our boys with the Vegas crowd! The show is going to be out of control, and we can’t wait to see it! Get your tickets here.

3. It’s Christmas Time Again…

Thanksgiving is here. You know what that means: It is finally appropriate to listen to Christmas music 24/7! And that means breaking out “It’s Christmas Time Again” on repeat, and watching the video (we can’t say that we don’t do this year round anyway, however it is a little more acceptable during these months)! With this season in full swing, that also means Christmas shows! We are so excited that BSB will be performing a few this year. Get the full list of shows and buy your tickets here.

4. Social Media.

We are thankful for the guys posting on social media, and providing us with entertainment. Holiday social media posts are our favorite, whether it is a video of Howie carving turkey, or pictures of Brian’s gorgeous house all decorated for Christmas, we love that they include their fans even during their off/family time. This year, we have an extra something to look forward to on social media. Nick’s All American Tour ended the day before Thanksgiving, so we get to see everyone’s pictures and videos of the Canadian leg of the tour [#ThankfulForSwet].

5. Just Because.

We are so thankful for having the guys in our lives. They have always been inspirations to their fans, and they have always shown the utmost love for us. We’re so thankful for everything they do for us, and we couldn’t be luckier or prouder to call ourselves “fans”.

14 Things That Prove BSB World is Actually Disney World

Do you love Backstreet Boys and Disney just as much as I do? Sometimes I literally cannot decide which one I like more (or which one is Hot, Hot, Hot-er). Upon returning from my recent trip to Disney World, and hopeful for upcoming BSB events, I was inspired to write this post. There are obvious correlations between BSB and Disney, such as when the guys performed at multiple Disney events (including Disney World Christmas Parade 1997 and Disneyland Christmas Parade 2012) and, let’s not forget, how Nick Carter auditioned for the Mickey Mouse club in 1989 (when I was… hmmm zero years old). Luckily, he also auditioned for the Backstreet Boys, and took that life road instead. For those of you who have never been to Disney World/Land, do not worry– because Backstreet World is basically the same thing:

1. Backstreet World and Disney World are both the most magical places on earth.

In a [Disney] World Like This, Backstreet Boys got you. Oh, and did we mention that they are both from Orlando, FL? You know you want to go watch the Homecoming: Live in Orlando VHS right now. While in Backstreet World (AKA attending one of their concerts), you may turn into each of the Seven Dwarfs or the Inside Out characters during the various points of your experience. You are always in a crowd full of people and your body hurts from standing and waiting in lines for hours for a 5 second experience… but you mostly will experience/inhabit “Joy”, and it is always worth it. It really is an emotional “ride”, and both worlds are sure to give you memories that will last a lifetime.

2. Backstreet Boys Go To Disney.

Two of my favorite things together?! Mind. Blown. AJ just loves going to Disneyland with his family, and tells people where he is all the time because he loves the attention, apparently? Tell us something we don’t know.

3. Backstreet Boys are Disney characters.

Have you ever been walking around Disney parks and catch a glimpse of Aladdin, and have to stare at him because you could swear it is Kevin? Or have you gone to a Backstreet Boys event and see Kevin, but picture Aladdin? Either way, the feeling is mutual, and this is just too precious not to relive.

Just look at that stud. You know you’re picturing him belting out “A Whole New World” [DONT YOU DARE CLOSE YOUR EYESSSSS]. For those of you who have not yet seen Kevin and Lalie singing this together on BSB Cruise 2016, here it is.

4. Backstreet Boys orrrrr… Dapper Dans?

The Dapper Dans are an old time acapella group, and apparently the “original boyband”, at least as far as Disney is concerned. You can catch them covering “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” here. Who knew you can listen to Backstreet Boys music on Main Street USA?

5. Magic Kingdom.

In your own Fantasyland, you can only make believe that you are a Disney princess and your favorite Backstreet Boy is your Prince Charming.

I don’t know… $350? $600? Which VIP package do you want?

6. Epcot.

We’ve been all around, all around the world… Showcase. Epcot World Showcase is where you travel around the world to different countries, just like you do when you travel to see different shows of the tour. Or like when you play the Backstreet Boys “Around the World: game or watching the VHS/DVD. Totes the same thing.

7. Hollywood Studios.

Your life is like a movie: the Backstreet Boys movie, that is.

8. Animal Kingdom

You know what happens to you when the Backstreet Boys come out on stage. The noises that come out of you sound nothing like humans, and we love it.

9. Bring your wallet.

In both Backstreet World and Disney World, you buy expensive tickets and wear expensive merch with the Backstreet Boys/characters’ faces on it, and as much as you try, you just can’t say no to buying all of it. The boys’ names might as well be Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie and Daisy (sorry Nick and Howie).

10. Backstreet Time.

Need we say more?

11. Helpless When We SMILE.

In both worlds, you’re always taking pictures with the boys/characters. Well, this looks oddly similar to VIP.

12. There Is Something For Everyone.

In both Backstreet and Disney Worlds, there is good entertainment and plenty of shows with singing and catchy tunes, including the Country Bear Jamboree.

Nick… Is that you on the banjo?

The-Country-Bear-Bear-Band-Bears-Now-in-High-Definition

13. #Stuckinthe90s.

We always live by Peter Pan’s mantra, and we “never grow up”.  We might break down and… spend all of our money on BSB events so that we can fangirl?… just like a child. But it’s okay, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

14. When You Wish Upon a [Shining] Star

You know you used to, and maybe still do, wish for Backstreet Boys life events to happen (e.g one day maybe you’ll get to meet them or be front row). Anddd then your dreams come true and fireworks burst as you stare into your favorite Backstreet Boys’ eyes as he’s singing to you. Yeah, it’s like that.

**And remember…**

Always let your conscience be your guide.

As in: Do you really need to go to another BSB show?

We know the answer is ALWAYS yes.
