Leaving Las Vegas: The End of the #BSBVegas Era

As we reflect on the end of the Backstreet Boys Las Vegas residency, we can’t help but think of Dorothy leaving the land of Oz. Follow us here…

Just as Dorothy was swept from a black and white world to a land of beautiful colors, new friends, discoveries of self, lots of singing (and even a few wicked witches), we were blown (ahem, flew) into the city of Las Vegas to do the same since the Boys began their residency at Planet Hollywood in March 2017.

Some of us found a new courage. Some of us grew bigger hearts. Some of us actually lost our brains. Unlike Dorothy though, we all found a new place to call home. Suddenly, Vegas became our escape. It went from a place that we could go to see the Backstreet Boys to a place that we could go to meet up with our friends from all over, a place we could go to make some pretty epic memories, and a place and time that we will forever tell stories about for years to come.

When Kevin, Howie, Brian, AJ, and Nick converged to embark on the Larger Than Life residency, we had no idea what to expect. We knew we’d get the same caliber of vocals and performance we were used to, but we had no idea the level it would reach. We had no idea that a rose, a hand hold, a moment in time, singing along with our favorite Backstreet Boy would all be things that held significance two years later.

Now here we are…

80 shows (by the time they finish), two venue name changes, millions of fans from hundreds of countries, the birth of a Backstreet baby, an album, a Grammy nomination, a sold out cruise, a celebration of a quarter century together, and so much more…

The Backstreet Boys are ready to close this chapter (for now, at least) and head out on a world tour.

And it’s bittersweet.

Sure, we’re ready for the DNA tour to begin. We’re ready for new performances, new choreography, and new memories, but just as much as Dorothy wanted to go home (aka back to the familiarity of tour), she also didn’t want to leave the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion behind.

As with the end of any Backstreet era, we have, to quote Nick Carter, mixed emotions. At the top of all of those emotions though, is an INSANE amount of gratitude.

We’re grateful to the Backstreet Boys.

To Kevin, who shows up to every meet and greet and every moment onstage to give 110% back to us.

To Howie, who showed up to the afterparties, always ready to party with us until early morning hours.

To Brian, who worked insanely hard through every performance to deliver his best and who went above and beyond to entertain.

To AJ, who gives a new meaning to the greatest showman, killing it with the vocals we fell in love everytime.

To Nick, who leaves it all out on stage every single time and moved to Las Vegas to raise his family, but also opened our eyes to so many great causes in the city as well.

We’re grateful for the BSB team (and families).

To the ones who helped us out everytime we didn’t know what we were doing.

To the ones that worked hard to make sure the VIP M&G lounge was everything it could be (especially to whoever thought of that bomb ass photobooth).

To the ones who make sure that everything ran smoothly from start to finish, that our photos turned out amazing, that we never had to wait long to get them, and that we had a truly great experience.

To the ones who helped us get where we needed to be for the afterparties and pointed us out to the Backstreet Boys when some of us weren’t bold enough to ask for a selfie ourselves.

To the ones who treated us like people rather than a bunch of fangirls. Thank you for listening.

To the wives who live streamed via Instagram when we couldn’t be there in person and played both parents to let the Boys do their thing with us.

We’re grateful to the venue staff.

To the security team inside Zappos Theater who has been exceedingly kind to all of us, but also kept us in line. Oh, and sang along with us.

To the bartenders who KEPT. IT. COMING.

To the ticketing agents who are always super welcoming.

To the Zappos social media team who fangirls alongside us and keeps it hype for our fave five.

We’re grateful for each other.

For this chapter.

For the friendships we’ve made and the lessons we’ve learned.

For the celebrations and the late nights.

For the bonding we’ve done over the post-concert depression and the jetlag.

For the fellow fans who share photos, videos and whatnot for someone who might want them.

For those that couldn’t attend a show in Vegas but supported those that could, supported the Boys extended stay and lived vicariously through everyone else, patiently waiting for the return to their own country / city.

For the ones who sing along. The ones who don’t question why we’re crying mid-concert. The ones who get it when we thought we were alone in these feelings.

How lucky we have been (and we didn’t even have to gamble to find out)!

To the city of Las Vegas…

Thank you for welcoming the Backstreet Boys with open arms and thank you for being a city that we never got tired of. Thank you for never sleeping because we sure as hell did not.

This is it.

With only three more shows and pink confetti drops left this week, we close this chapter in Backstreet history, knowing there are many more journeys to a different “OZ” ahead of us, but also knowing that these past 2 years will always hold a special place in our hearts, just like every era before.

We’ll never forget the feelings we felt the first time we saw the Boys turn around in those boxes, descending down to the stage.

We’ll never forget the incredible dancers who kept us entranced.

We’ll never forget LOVING how “Undone” sounds live (and Nick’s enthusiastic dancing).

We’ll never forget the anticipation of “Shape Of My Heart”.

We’ll never forget the most special of moments that we don’t even discuss, but remains pristine in our memories for a rainy day.

We’re so happy to have had this “home”. There’s no place like it.

7 Reasons You Need To See The Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Residency Before It’s Over

A month from now, the Backstreet Boys incredible Larger Than Life Las Vegas Residency at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood on the strip will only have a few shows left! A run that started out with only two months of shows has turned into 2 years, drawing in fans and tourists-turned-fans from all over the world.

This residency has brought some old favorite songs to the stage, the return of dancers, amazing effects and an eye-catching wardrobe that anyone who attends won’t soon forget. In fact, many people who started out saying they would go to one or two shows can’t get enough and have made multiple trips back!

Need more convincing to catch the show before it ends on April 27th? We have our reasons.

1. Undone.

maxresdefault

The song, a long time fan favorite from the Backstreet Boys This Is Us album, is the first and only song added to a setlist since Kevin has returned that didn’t include Kevin on the original recording and BOY, are we HYPE about it! “Undone” showcases everything that we vocally love about the Boys and the way the choreography works (yes, they have choreography to a slow song), you can literally feel the song moving, creeping up on you as the Backstreet Boys move in perfect horizontal pyramid formation down the “catwalk”.

And let’s just say that Nick Carter has infused a few moves into it that leaves a lot of ladies (and some gentleman) wide eyed and jaw dropped.

You just need to be there. In person. With eyeballs. And ears.

2. You Never Know Who Might Show Up!

large.eyymfbxdtexpqd_9w_r34jmr70xah7jukiyrdd4w3mg

From Snooki to Joey Fatone to Andy Cohen to James Corden to Billie Lourd to Shania Twain to Niall Horan to…. well, you get the point! The Backstreet Boys are legends and there’s a lot of celebrities who know and love them and a large number of them have shown up in the audience at a BSB Vegas show. Some of them have even made it onstage during the “Shape Of My Heart” serenade, making for some VERY memorable moments.

Speaking of the serenade, there’s always a chance that if you’re in the audience, it could be you!

3. The Boys Are More Accessible Than Ever.

large._0ydv9jmthosj0qk5hhspa49t_05uu3fe8nevhmr2ye

From the stage and VIP tables that allow the Boys to reach out and touch fans like never before to the back sections where Kevin, Brian, AJ, Howie and Nick appear during “All I Have To Give” (then make their way down through several sections in the audience), there’s not a bad spot in the house and you can definitely be lucky enough to grab a hand or snag a quick selfie – no matter where you are! Ah, the thrill of the “maybe”.

Oh, and we should mention, if you haven’t heard already, each of the Backstreet Boys hand out a rose to a fan (usually near the front) during the show and boy, does that make for a great souvenir!

4. You Can Make A Whole Day Out Of It – Conveniently!

miracle-mile-shops-email

With VIP Meet and Greet starting around 5:30 and an afterparty (sometimes) that goes until 2am with the concert in between, you can make a day of Backstreet! What do we mean by a whole day? Because being in Las Vegas, there’s plenty of places to pamper yourself beforehand. Get your hair done at Drybar (or any other salon on the strip) and make over your face at Sephora (or hire someone to come to your room) because you need a look that’s going to go hard! Oh, and don’t forget to shop for merch in the merch store outside of Zappos Theater before the show.

No interested in the glam? Book a massage or go grab a drink with other fans before the show – there are plenty around at all times.

5. The Whole Production Is WORTH. IT.

DSC03383

The show….oh man, THE SHOW! From the moment the Backstreet Boys descend from the ceiling in turning boxes, there’s a vibe… an electricity… that you can’t (currently) experience anywhere else. The Boys’ wardrobe is pristine (have we mentioned how much we love the sparkly jackets), the lights and set are on point, and the dancers (who we admittedly weren’t sure about before the residency started) add something to the show that we didn’t know we needed. In a word, THIS SHOW IS SPICY!

6. This Is Your Last Chance To Catch Them In The States For A Few Months!

livenation-11092018

Kevin, Nick, AJ, Brian and Howie are kicking off the DNA World Tour overseas in May and will not be returning to the U.S. until July! Get your fix now (and then do it again when the tour comes to your city, of course).

7. FOMO.

VideoSnap

It’s almost over! You don’t. want. to. miss. this. and if you do, well… there’s going to inevitably be some regret. When have we ever told you wrong?

Headed to Vegas for the first time and have questions about what to expect? We’ve laid out a lot of answers and suggestions here.

3 Things You Need To Know About AJ McLean’s Solo Vegas Event (+ Videos)

AJ McLean: Backstreet Boy.

AJ McLean: Solo Artist.

AJ McLean: Actor.

AJ McLean: ….Country Artist?

After previewing music on the Backstreet Boys Cruise in May and in Nashville (where he spent a lot of time recording his upcoming album) in June in front of fans and members of the press, AJ played some more music for a small group of lucky fans last night at Top Golf Las Vegas.

Not only did he play his single “Back Yard Bottle Service”, but he also delighted the crowd with his next single (which he shot a music video for a few weeks ago) and a chill-inducing cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Drunkard’s Prayer”.

All we can say is that we can not wait to hear more and we wish AJ had joined the world of country sooner!

1. If the guy playing with AJ looks familiar, it’s because he was a houseguest on two seasons of Big Brother

AJ_Paul

If the guy who’s been playing guitar for AJ recently looks familiar to you, it’s because his name is Paul Abrahamian and he was a houseguest on season 18 and 19 of CBS’ Big Brother. If you’ve followed AJ for any amount of time, you know that he is a huge BB fan and this is a match made in Heaven!

2. AJ has been adamant in telling his story through country music.

3. There’s merch!

AJ_Merch

In case you missed it, you can now purchase merch and rep AJ’s new music everywhere you go! Check it out here.

Our affiliate, The Dark Side, was lucky enough to attend AJ’s Vegas event and has been kind enough to share her videos with us. Watch below!

If You’re Thinking About Backing Out of #BSBVegas, Please Don’t (+ How You Can Help)

By now, you have surely heard about the extremely tragic, deplorable, heartbreaking events that took place at Route 91 Music Festival in Las Vegas. If you haven’t, you can keep up to date here.

We are absolutely heartbroken for everyone involved – those injured, the families of those who have been senselessly killed, the family of the shooter / terrorist, the fans, the artists who were there and the people of Las Vegas, whose home has been rocked by this act of terrorism.

There are so many of us who have visited this beautiful city this year. We’ve made memories, we’ve met friends, and we’ve been protected and allowed to enjoy the Backstreet Boys in a safe space. We can’t thank the police and first responders enough for all the hard work that they do – not just during this massacre, but all the time.

With that being said, we’ve seen several people who are wary to attend their already planned concerts. We’ve seen people that are looking to cancel their trips that they were so excited to embark on less than 24 hours ago. To those people, we are urging you to please continue.

This is not about the Backstreet Boys themselves, but about rising up against what this terrorist wanted. If we let someone’s despicable acts deter us from living our lives, going to concerts, going outside – what kind of life is that? Please do not live in fear. Please do not let someone / something dictate how you continue to live. We owe it to ourselves. We owe it to the city of Las Vegas, who depends on entertainment to keep their economy thriving. Above all, we can not let terror win us over. Unfortunately, this could happen anywhere – we can not stop living.

The staff and security at Planet Hollywood have been WONDERFUL and we are positive that they will continue to be as great at their jobs, if not greater, than they were before today.

For now, our hearts, prayers, and positive vibes are with Vegas and those who need it. We will keep this post updated with all of the best ways to help and more. The greatest need right now is blood. Please see below locations if you are in or around the area.

If you’re currently in Las Vegas, please mark yourself as safe here.

#BSBVegas FAQ: Part Two – General Admission and VIP vs. After Party

The time has come again for Backstreet to take back Las Vegas with their shows at The Axis at Planet Hollywood and boy, are we ready for it! After their EPIC ACM performance with Florida Georgia Line and a few announcements for upcoming festival appearances, the need to see our fantastic five has only grown stronger. Anyone else already been to Vegas and watching flight prices to go back or is that just us?

We answered a few questions in the first run here and now that we’ve all had time to get acclimated, we’re answering more!

There seems to be two MAJOR questions being asked and we’re here to give you facts and an honest opinion to answer both.

What Time Do I Need To Line Up For General Admission?

FACTS:

  • Those with VIP Meet and Greet and Beat The Line General Admission tickets ARE let into the venue first.
  • Just because they are let into the venue first does not mean you are guaranteed first in line. What we mean by this is… if you are let into the venue and go to buy a drink or merch before getting into line, there is not really a guarantee that you will be up front in line.
  • You are allowed to line up for General Admission as early as you like – we saw people there in the early afternoon.
  • There is NOT a “better side” to be on. The Boys try to divide themselves as much as possible. Being on the right side, we did see all of them.
  • RUNNING into the “pit” will get you stopped by security – they’re not playing.
  • You will be standing the whole time, but there is plenty of room to move around if you don’t try to squeeze into a spot.
  • If you think not being against the stage means no Boy time, you’re wrong. They can definitely see everyone standing there.

HONEST OPINION:

  • Don’t stress lining up early. For most everyone we have talked to, the time people got in line did NOT mean a better or worse spot in the GA pit. We can not stress enough – THERE IS NOT A BAD SPOT. Once doors open, you have to split and go through metal detectors, then a photographer takes a photo of you and your friends against a background (for later purchase) before you even head down to the line to get INTO GA. There are a number of factors that could speed you up / slow you down. If you would rather use your time to sight see or relax, go for it! If waiting to line up stresses you out, go ahead! Just make sure you’re ENJOYING yourself – not sabotaging your experience.
  • VIP Tables decidedly have the best view of the entire stage in our opinion, but there is an energy in the GA that you can’t get anywhere else. The Boys don’t interact *quite* as much as during IAWLT, but that could change as they get more comfortable. We definitely got our fair share and Kevin has been drinking peoples beers since then!
  • As aforementioned, we didn’t feel like we got jipped by getting to see some Boys more than others – it was pretty fair for both sides.
  • Make friends with those around you. If you have to pee, they’ll stretch to save your spot and if they know your favorite Boy is coming, maybe they’ll move aside so you can have your moment (and maybe even take a photo)!
  • HAVE FUN! Like we said, the Boys can see you. If you’re standing there like you don’t know you’re at a BSB concert, it will make them sad. DON’T MAKE A BACKSTREET BOY SAD.

Should I Do VIP Meet and Greet or an Ultimate Afterparty Package?!

This is really subjective. The experience that’s right for you depends on what you want out of it. So let’s break it down…

VIPCompare2017

HONEST VIP MEET & GREET OPINION:

  • PRO – We didn’t feel like we were wasting our time waiting around. Once we were checked in, we got our drinks and got to hang out in a room with our friends until it was time to meet the BSB.
  • PRO – We were fresh. By fresh, I mean we weren’t dancing around at a concert and sweating for three hours before we met the Boys. Our faces were still in place and body parts were stilled tucked in properly.
  • PRO – The professional photo with all five guys. We trust Justin Segura with our VIP lives.
  • PRO – Souvenirs! The photobooth gifs have been making their way onto every fan’s social media and we really want that thing on tour (and in our houses).
  • CON – The concert HAS to start on time. If the Backstreet Boys are running behind, your experience may be a little tighter time wise. However, we will say that Kevin, Howie, Brian, AJ and Nick are very considerate if there’s something you’re trying to say to them and will do their best to give you a chance.
  • CON – No candids. Because your meet and greet experience is individual, it’s up to you to remember everything that happened.

HONEST ULTIMATE AP OPINION:

  • PRO: You’re in the VIP section….WITH the Backstreet Boys! You can’t really understand what a perk this is until you’re there, but Chateau can get REALLY crowded on the weekends. Because you’re in this section, you’re treated like an actual VIP with the BSB present.
  • PRO: Selfies! Who doesn’t love a good selfie with a BSB? It’s instant and you can make sure you’re getting your best side. The Boys have been really good with trying to get selfies with anyone who wants one in the VIP.
  • PRO: Your friends have your back. As we mentioned before, in the VIP meet and greet, you’re going in individually and holding it down on your own. It’s GREAT for the pic and the experience, but sucks if you can’t remember a thing. One our favorite parts about the afterparty is that if you’re chatting with / dancing with / in the vicinity of your favorite Backstreet Boy, your friend (or maybe a stranger) can snap a shot so you can remember forever!
  • PRO: There ain’t no party like a Backstreet party! Everyone is high off of the concert, but the atmosphere is chill, not as regimented and allows the Boys to come to you.
  • CON: You might be tired. After a whole day and dancing all night, a club in Vegas might be the last thing you want to do. It’s something to consider.
  • CON: Selfies are likely, but not guaranteed. While the Boys DO try to come to you, if you hang back, you might miss out.
  • CON: You never know who might show up. It could be one BSB, it could be four or five. If it’s important to you to meet ALL five, the AP is not for you.

BOTTOM LINE:

We listed pros and cons to try to break it down into things you might not think about, but truth be told, the pro side on both experiences FAR outweigh the cons. They’re really just terms of preference.

If your priority is to meet all five Backstreet Boys, 100% look great in a professional photo, have a more managed experience and time to hang with your friends in a quieter environment, VIP Meet and Greet is for you.

If your priority is to hang out with a few Backstreet Boys in a party atmosphere late into the night with a chill vibe and less structure, but still an intimate VIP section setting, the Ultimate Party Package will not disappoint.

….You can always do both. 🙂

A Quick #BSBVegas FAQ (VIP, Show, & Afterparty)

The Backstreet Fever is taking over Vegas and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally see them take over The Axis theater stage. Last night was a night of firsts – first show, first VIP and first official BSB afterparty. Naturally, everyone has a lot of questions!

While we intend on putting together a fully detailed review / suggestion / photo blog after we both return this weekend, here are a few answers to what seem to be the most asked questions. Please note that all of this has been confirmed by the appropriate people and/or people that were there last night.

1.Are cameras allowed?

Yes. Contrary to what Planet Hollywood and the box office will tell you when you call / email / tweet, POINT AND SHOOT CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED. Cameras with a detachable lens will be taken and be available for pick up at the end of the show.

2. Who Gets Into Pit (General Admission) First?

As of last night, everyone was lined up in the following order – VIP (1st), Early Entry (2nd), Regular GA (3rd). However, people with regular GA still got a good spot in the pit as it is a small space. Please note – this is ALL standing. You do NOT have a designated spot in GA.

3. Are Drinks Allowed Into The Pit?

Of course. While you may not want to give up your spot to get a drink or run to the restroom, drinks are definitely allowed.

4. What’s Included In VIP?

A meet and greet with the Backstreet Boys and a VIP exclusive lounge with a bar, photobooth, and more to ensure a good time with friends! Please note that last night (3/1) was the first night and that the meet and greet experience is only going to get better. Hugs from each BSB though – what could be better??

Please note that VIP experiences are all different and the time spent with the Boys varies. It’s best to go in with an open mind.

5. How Many People Were In VIP?

Around 150 – it was sold out.

6. Can You Leave VIP After You’re Done?

It’s not likely that you’ll want to. By the time the VIP process is done, it’s time for doors to open. Every night is different though.

UPDATE: We did see one or two people leave to go to dinner and get their ticket rescanned to come back in. If you have an actual seat, there’s no benefit to being let in early. Make sure you get your ticket scanned before you leave though.

7. Can You Buy VIP At The Door?

If VIP is sold out, no.

8. How Long Is The Show?

12 minute long intro video, 96 minute show. Usually starts around 9:10 pm.

9. The Boys Go Into The Audience For AIHTG. Which Sections?

Nick: 200 – 201
Brian: 202
Kevin: 203 – 204
Aj: 205 – 206
Howie: 207 – 208

10. Do You Have To Leave The Show Early To Get A Good GA Spot For The Afterparty?

No. Leaving early isn’t really beneficial. Chateau is a 5 minute walk from Planet Hollywood and the Boys will take longer to get there than you will.

11. Is The Chateau Dress Code Enforced?

Not really, but we wouldn’t recommend showing up in something as casual as flip flops.

We will be updating this post as there are more questions! We will be live tweeting / snapchatting from Vegas all weekend – @whothebckstreet. Can’t wait to see you guys there!

Get Ready For #BSBVegas With Us!

Awwwww yeaaahhhhh, boyyssss (If you didn’t hear that in Kevin’s voice, what are you doing with life?). We’ve made it! This week kicks off the Backstreet Boys’ first week in Vegas and we’re not sure anyone is ready for what is about to hit us…

The Playlist

Every good adventure should have a soundtrack. If you’re too busy to make your own, we’ve got you covered. Kristie and I took a while to compile (then toss out and compile again) songs that would bring the hype. We’ve got some BSB tunes, some 90s hits, some club mixes and, of course, a few Vegas themed.

From packing to traveling to getting ready for the show, we hope you enjoy this 100-song playlist as much as we do!

The Packing List

In all the excitement, we wanted to remind you of a few things you might be forgetting to pack:

  • Tickets (Or making sure you have the email for them)
  • Your ID (For basically everything)
  • Hair Tools (If you are traveling with friends, divide up who brings what)
  • Chargers (Phone, camera, self…)

  • Deodorant (Backstreet Boys can make you sweat)
  • An Oversized Bag (For souvenirs)

7 Things Any Backstreet Boys Fan Going To Vegas Is Going Through Right Now

Well, here we are. We’re in the homestretch of what we’ve been preparing for since a few Backstreet Boys weren’t supposed to tell us that a Vegas residency was happening. Remember when Nick told everyone it was happening then kept lying throughout the All American tour but was really bad at lying?

Anyway, we’ve made it! Kind of. We thought the waiting was the hardest part, but the closer we get, the more we realize this whole process has brought about a range of emotions we didn’t know we had.

1. STILL Deciding On Which Dates We’re Going.

giphy

We started out VERY sure which dates we were going to go see our Boys in Vegas.

Until we started texting our friends… who seemed to be either undecided or spread out on the dates they were going.

WE LITERALLY HAVE TO MAKE VERY BLATANT DECISIONS ABOUT WHICH FRIENDS ARE MORE FUN. Or which friends were most likely to be the least drama in the whole tedious process.

2. We’re In A Love / Hate Relationship With Group Chats.

giphy1

We’re so happy to have Backstreet-Boys-loving friends. We’re even more excited that we get to share experiences with them in Vegas.

HOWEVER, keeping up with group chats are hard! Sometimes it’s like a Backstreet Boy entering an FC chat in 1999 in there!

And just how many texts are you being left out of? What is group chat etiquette? Who really knows?

3. Which Events Do You Choose?!

giphy2

VIP Meet And Greet.

Afterparties.

Concerts.

Which nights do you do what? Can you live with the FOMO? What do you have time for? Is this actually going to kill you? Which bank should you rob? How many lies are you going to tell your significant other? What are your friends doing? Better get back to that battlefield group chat.

4. We Keeping Adding ALL THE THINGS.

giphy3

#3 is really irrelevant because after hours of panicking, the tickets eventually go on sale and our credit card numbers magically enter themselves for purchases. So weird how that happens. So weird how more dates keep getting added to the time we’re in Vegas.

Seriously, such a mystery.

5. What Do We Even Wear?

source

Another endless convo probably happening in the group chat. Do you dress up? Do you wear jeans? Do you wear camo ala Nick Carter? Do you change for all the events you’re now probably in debt for? Can you even afford clothes?

Oh, and what about shoes?

And what about your hair?

And what about your entire life up until this point? It’s all spiraling out of control, to be honest.

6. Everyday is A Battle Against Those Who Do Not Understand.

As Backstreet Boys fans in 2017, we are used to constantly rolling our eyes at friends and family members who insist that they “just don’t know” how we see them so much.

Well, we don’t know how you talk so much, Linda, but here you are.

It’s almost as annoying as those who have not understood for years but suddenly want to join us in Vegas since the BSB were on an episode of The Bachelor and OMGZ AJ IS STILL SO HOT.

7. But Mostly, We’re Just Through-The-Roof Excited!

The Backstreet Boys keep telling us via social media that we’re not ready and we keep wondering how they know so much!

How can we be ready for more amazing times with the five of them? How can we be ready for more days and nights with some of our best friends?

Honestly, just thinking about it makes us feel like throwing a party so we can only imagine how we’ll feel actually being there.

WE. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

VEGAS, BABY!

7 Wishes We Have For The Backstreet Boys In 2017

kevinrichardson1061kissfmjingleballp8kmqfiecyyl-1

It’s a new year and, for a lot of us, the first time we will be seeing the Backstreet Boys together on stage again since the In A World Like This tour. While hitting Las Vegas is prominent on the mind of many, there is so much more we are wishing for in 2017 for the Boys and for ourselves.

1. An Insanely Good Time In Las Vegas.

The news of the Backstreet Boys’ ‘Larger Than Life’ Vegas residency has already made major headlines. Thanks to their recent promotion, people from all over are making plans to infiltrate Planet Hollywood’s Axis Theatre between March and July to see our fab five hit the stage together. We couldn’t be more thrilled for them and we couldn’t be more thrilled for more than just the normal fans to see them.

Kevin, Howie, AJ, Brian and Nick deserve this. They have worked hard and tirelessly for nearly 24 years. We can only hope that 2017 brings them the love and recognition that they deserve.

We also hope that our own time in Vegas is absolutely one for the books. We’ve made plans with our friends, are booking hotels, flights, nailing down times, buying VIP experiences and more. We can’t wait! If you haven’t gotten your tickets or VIP yet, get it and hit it or quit it, y’all! It’s a new experience for ALL of us involved.

2. A Sweet Little Addition.

Let’s not forget that in just a few months, we’ll also have a new Baby Girl McLean. We have never been quiet about how much we A D O R E AJ and Rochelle as parents and we’re super excited to see them with two. Not only are we excited to see them with a new baby, but isn’t everyone dying to see Ava as a big sister as well? We can already see the matching outfits and sweet instapics. Here’s wishing the McLean family a happy and healthy arrival of their little one!

3. Some Healing.

If you’ve been following What Happens On The Backstreet for any amount of time, you know that we have been rooting for Brian Littrell for a while now. It’s no secret that he has been dealing with vocal struggles for a while now and in recent performances, we’ve all heard and acknowledged his improvements. We will continue to rally around him and hope that 2017 brings even more healing and peace for him. As long as he’s showing up, so will we. We will sing along when he asks and we’ll stand by him when he doesn’t even know it.

4. More Progress On A New Album.

We’re waiting very patiently on this one. We’re absolutely dying for new music, but as the Backstreet Boys do, they’re taking their time to perfect things. We’re cool with that as long as they don’t disappear on us! We’re actually learning to enjoy the anticipation. Backstreet Time will be obviously be alive and well in 2017 as much as it has been the past 24 years. Go ahead, Boys… we’ll wait. Check out all the progress here.

5. Solo Things?

Nick has mentioned more than once that he might work on another solo album between Backstreet projects and we all know that the man NEVER stops. We’re, of course, also hoping that AJ finally releases his solo album as well. We really can’t take the teasing anymore!

Speaking of teasing, we’re looking at you, Kevin Richardson.

6. Shining Moments.

Howie D. is [finally] relaunching his solo site this month! We really hope that in this year, on the new album, in the Vegas run that Howie finally gets the big love he deserves. We appreciate you so, Mr. Dorough. Check out his fresh new site here.

7. More Love, Less Hate.

We’ll post about it until we’re blue in the face, but the peace among fans has to start somewhere. It the battle of fans vs. the group / management, the constant complaining has GOT to stop. If you’re going to complain, be constructive and come with a resolution. Stop complaining for attention and stop the groupthink. Be the voice of reason. Shed light and stop starting fires. The less fires we start, the quicker we can build a bridge to repair all of the things that haven’t been the best in the past. In 2017, let’s all learn how to work together. We deserve it. The Backstreet Boys deserve. Everyone is working toward one goal – let’s get this!

Cheers to 2017, fan-mily!

We’re here for it and we hope you are too.

Sound Off: Do You Want To Hear Singles From ‘Unbreakable’, ‘This Is Us’, and ‘IAWLT’?

Calling the Backstreet Army!

The Boys are planning for their upcoming Las Vegas run in 2017 and they need your help. If you want to hear singles from This Is Us, Unbreakable and In A World Like This in their set, Nick Carter is imploring you to tell the world (and the other four Backstreet Boys).

While we love the classics as much as everyone else, we definitely want more out-of-the-loop fans to hear some newer stuff too! We love these songs and we know they will too.
