4 Things You Need To Know About Howie D.’s ‘Howie Eatz’ Virtual Event

Howie D. is arguably the king of unique solo events. Recently, Howie Eatz has been his new way of connecting with fans on tour by sharing dining experiences from the regional favorites.

Now, since we’re quarantined and unable to gather around a table with Sweet D himself, he’s making it possible with a little virtual magic!

On May 15th, Howie will join forces with Chef Katsuji Tanabe to teach everyone how to make a special fried chicken recipe via webcam — here’s what you need to know:

1. You might know Chef Katsuji Tanabe from Top Chef.

If Chef Tanabe looks familiar, it’s because he’s been a competitor on season 12 of Top Chef, Top Chef Mexico, and Chopped. He is also owner and executive chef at MexiKosher restaurant in LA and New York. Needless to say, he knows his stuff!

2. The chef will be walking everyone through how to cook his fried chicken – including Howie!

After you purchase your ticket to join the “class”, you’ll receive an email with the recipe so that you can be prepared to cook along with Howie as he learns along with you, beginning at 8pm EST.

If you haven’t bought a ticket yet, but you’re planning on doing so, here are the things you’ll need:

1 Whole 3lb Chicken

— Chicken Marinade Ingredients —

1 cup hot sauce (Not very spicy)

1/4 cup fish sauce

3.  All ticket proceeds are going to two wonderful charities!

All profits from ticket sales will be going to CORE and The Trotter Project. Both organizations have been doing incredible work to help those in the hospitality and service industry.

4. Howie will be doing some virtual meet and greets via Looped after the class. [These are SOLD OUT]

Some lucky fans snagged a chance to meet and talk with Howie after the cooking class via the Looped platform. After your few minute convo with Howie, the whole video will be emailed to you a bit later. Please note that this meet and greet will need to take place on a MOBILE DEVICE (not a computer), so make sure you download the app if you have a spot.

You can still purchase a ticket and watch the replay to cook along!
