17 Fans Share Their Favorite Memories With Brian Littrell

41 years ago (WHAT?! He’s like 20!), Brian Littrell was born and the world changed. Maybe not immediately, but one by one, since he was 18, Brian has been touching peoples hearts – fans, strangers, and fellow celebrities alike. He’s a role model, an inspiration, a fighter of sorts and kind of our superhero.

When I asked people to send in their favorite memories with him, people responded with a fierceness and most were “How do I pick my favorite?”. When you’ve been so kind to so many that people don’t know which interaction has been their favorite, you know you’re living life right. The common denominator in everyone’s favorite memory is that Brian made every person comfortable, that he takes the time to try and get to know everyone who is excited to meet him, that he cares and that he’s listening. If you’ve ever met Mr. Littrell, you know that he is one of the most sincere “celebrities” you will ever have the chance to meet. I say “celebrity” because it’s always been clear that the fame that has been bestowed upon him isn’t his thing, but man, are we lucky it happened. We’re lucky.

Continue reading for the favorite memories that fans shared with me, but beware, you’re going to get some feels!

Wow, there’s so many memories with Brian that I have! My favorite ones are randomly running into him at Disneyland and getting a pic with his family, and the numerous times he’s seen me during a concert or soundcheck and makes me feel special! Wishing Brian a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Thank you for everything you do for me personally! Love you always and forever!!! – @btl2345

I have many special memories with Brian but my favorite absolutely is the first VIP which happened in February 2014. I remember that I was very anxious but he found the way to make me feel comfortable, he hugged me once and I gave to him a personalized necklace. I remember that I looked at him trying to understand his reaction: he opened his eyes a little more and he said: “wow it’s so beautiful, thank you so much”. He hugged me a second time and then we took the picture for the VIP while he held it in his hands. After, he went away to put the necklace with other gifts and I was starting to say goodbye to the other guys. I was near to do the same with Howie, when he went back and hugged me a third time and told me: “I’m really happy to have met you.” So then, I forgot to say bye to Howie but it’s okay. He is a very special person, human being, who is able to make you happy with little things. Happy Birthday Brian. I wish you all the best on your way now and forever, you really deserve it, you are an extraordinary man. – @bsbmyonlylove

I want to share with you my favorite memories with Brian for his birthday. I’m a big fan of BSB. My fave is Brian and My Birthday is the 20th too! It is an honor to me to have the same Birthday! – @alys_littrell

This photo was taken in NYC August 97 at a autograph session when Bsb released their 1st CD in the USA. Brian was the first I would talk to. I was so nervous, I walked up and in his amazing Kentucky accent, he said “Hi darling , what your name?”

I said, “I’m DEBBBBIE!”

He smiled and said “Nice to meet you I’m BRIANNN!”

“Awesome. I like MONTREALLL.”  Finally I felt a little better and told him,”Brian, I just want to say my friends and I stood outside for 11 1/2 hrs to meet you.”

He said, “OMG really?????” He turned to Howie, “HEY did you hear that? 11 1/2 hours plus All the way from Montreal Canada!!” I’ll never forget that. Thanks, Brian. – @Donniesdeva

It was hard to pick one favorite Brian memory but I went with….the time I photobombed him and he shared the picture on his Instagram. I mean it’s not every day you get to photobomb a Backstreet Boy and end up on his Instagram page. – @Yahtzee27

During the Backstreet Anniversary Cruise at the beach party, me and my friends were waiting for him and LeighAnne. On their way to take a selfie with us, someone behind me/us tried to cut through to ask Brian for an autograph. Brian was talking to us, so he asked my friend what is her name, the girl behind us said her name, Brian said ‘ I’m sorry! I’m having a conversation with this ladies. Please wait.’ I love how he takes time with each and everyone of us fans. Even if some are rude and tries to interupt one’s moment with the Boys or one of the Boys. We all had a turn taking pics and talking to both Brian and LeighAnne. I’ll never forget that moment. – @Jhie0730

Sadly, haven’t met him yet… But my favorite memory would have to be seeing him in person for the first time. It was 4/22/13 for the Walk of Fame. He saw me but I don’t know if he knew who it was. He was walking towards me but one of the guards held him back. I know it’s not that big but he was coming towards me and that meant a lot. Also got a hug from Leighanne. – @LoveinLeighBri

The best moment I have with Brian is when he jump the barricade in TIU Tour in Chile, back in 2011, he hugged me and looked really emotional with my story. That was the first meet & greet I had with them . I have problems to walk so Q told me to wait till the final. At that time the photos were with barricades..I was waiting with my brother and the first who jumped was Brian, then Nick, AJ and Howie. Really I still can’t believe it yet..we talked, specially with Brian, I gave him a letter..he was really really cute. – @Cotecita_Carter

I have so many memories with Brian. From the first time I met him at my very first bsb meet and greet to going to the first annual opening of the Wylee store in Atlanta Georgia. But the memory that sticks out the most to me was having my first interaction with him by himself in Kentucky. I remember I was so nervous and excited to try and get a solo picture with my favourite bsb. I thought it would not happen because of the amount of people that were there. But I had two of my friends Stephanie and Heather make it happen for me by pushing me a bit closer so I can get my opportunity of a photo with him. When I was there he looked at me and smiled. I froze for a second and told him it was great to see you again Brian. He said “it is great to see you as well.” Gave me a big hug and we took our picture. From that moment on I knew that I was truly blessed and lucky to have met the one guy that has been part of my life already for 18 years. That small interaction with him was the best moment and feeling in the world. So thanks to Brian for taking his few seconds and minutes of his time to interact with a fan . It means the world to me and so glad I had all of the chances I did in seeing you. – @Brok_Vanessa21

So I only have one Brian memory…for now. It’s the only time I’ve ever met him. I just wanna point that I had a teeny thing for Brian before meeting him but I went to that concert a Nick girl. But yeah, I remember after I was done hugging Kevin, it was Brian. His eyes are soooo pretty in person. His eyes are life. I was just like “Hey boo” And he’s just so nice and he gives the best hugs. I know everyone says Kevin does and his hugs are awesome too but there was just something about Brian. I remember having to remind myself to break the hug. I remember him saying something about “Good to see ya” and “Enjoy the show” I just wanted to say something else to him and the first thing I could think of was “Next time you guys should come to Barclay’s Center. You could have the after party a my house. Its right there.” …I don’t know – I was being funny. But I remember his face. He was just smiling and he raised his eyebrows like “oh really” And then he said “yeah son” and made like a gesture with his hand. That made me laugh. It was hilarious to me cause number one…how does he know to use that word like that and number two, I know that I sound really “hood” when I get nervous. I guess it’s a defensive thing and he was like mimicking me. He’s so silly. But yeah it’s safe to say I’m officially a Brian girl now (Sorry Nick) and it pretty much started that day. – Alicia

Oh, my dear and wonderful Brian.  I know a lot of people have some amazing memories with him, because he truly is one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the chance to meet.
I have two memories, if you don’t mind my sharing both.
The first one is from the London VIP experience during the Unbreakable Tour.  My first backstage event, and it was at a Backstreet Boys concert.  As Brian said: “Are you all right?  You look like you’re in shock.”  I was in shock.  I still am, all these years later.  My memory might be small compared to others’ but it shows that Brian is a diamond in the sea of people out there.
A fan, who became one of my Facebook friends after the VIP, was in a wheelchair that day.  Brian was going to take us onstage so that we could see what they see.  But then he realized that this girl in a wheelchair might not be able to get up there.  He asked her if she would be able to get onto the stage, and I casually said, “She will if you hold her hand.”  Now, I didn’t mean anything by it, I just said that cause, you know, everyone feels great when Brian holds their hand (don’t they?).  And, to our complete astonishment, he held her hand and helped her climb onto the stage!  A small gesture, but just recounting that is bringing tears to my eyes.
The second memory was at another VIP, in Belfast this time, for the NKOTBSB tour.  He was perfect during that VIP.  First, he did a Q & A, which I inadvertantly monopolized.  It was April 20th, and I started telling him, on behalf of the fans, happy anniversary, and thanking him for everything.  It was a little speech that I hadn’t even planned on saying, and Brian listened to me with his eyes wide and a smile on his face (is it warm in here or is it just me?).  He thanked me, and looked over at Eddie, who was busy fidgeting with his camera, and asked him whether he had caught all that (what I had said).  When Eddie said no, Brian turned to me and asked me to repeat it.  Repeat?  Me?  I could barely breathe, let alone remember what I had said to him, but I tried, and he still listened with that smile on his face.
After that, he took us backstage to their changing area, and that’s when Q came over to tell us that the concert doors had been opened, and the fans were already coming in.  This concert had a pit, so there were no assigned seats on the floor, which meant that if we wanted to have front row for the concert, well, it was going to be difficult.  The look on Brian’s face when Q told him about the doors, I’ll never forget.  He looked crestfallen, and immediately offered to let us go so that we could try and get good spots for the show.  But we decided to stay with him to finish the backstage tour and take the pictures with him.
It was quite an experience, to see him care so much about us.  Because I know he cares about the fans.  And we care about him.  He’s Brian, how can we not?
– Vanessa Court-Payen
My memory with Brian happened last year while IAWLT tour was here in Brazil. I had VIP tickets and brought him gifts. I also took a very flashy sign saying I wanted a funny selfie with him. It turns out that at the soundcheck party I couldn’t get close enough but he read my poster up from the stage and made faces for me to take pictures. Not satisfied, at one time when the madness stabilized and the screaming decreased I called for him and he replied and sent me a kiss. When the time for the VIP photo came, I talked to everyone but when I looked at him I choked and he hugged me very hard like squeezed me and made the funny face that I asked. Let’s say he remembered me hahahaha. It was my second BSB concert but it was the show of my life! A few days later my love and admiration only increased when I saw pictures of him wearing my gifts – two shirts. I can’t wait for the next tour stop by so I can give more presentes to our beautiful angel who is always so attentive to fans. – @caroolrizzi
My first time meeting Brian was on the Backstreet Boys cruise 2014. It was the day of group photos. And he was the last one on line (of course we saved the best for last). So I gave all the guys a hug but once I got to Brian It was like the longest yet best hug ever. By the way, he smelled so good! After the photo was taken, Brian looks at me and tells me he loves my curls so of course this left a huge smile on my face and is something I would never forget. Why? Because I love my curls and I grew up hearing I should always straighten my hair. Brian loving my curls was the only confirmation I needed lol! So for that reason I’ll stick to my curls. Brian also signed my BSB hat that I got custom made & it’s something I will cherish forever! He’s just that awesome! I love me some B-Rok! Happy Birthday love! – Taisha Lopez-Cintron
This actually happened for the Boys’ 20th anniversary, which was the very first time I had ever seen them in person. So the ceremony ends, they all greeted us fans.  I got to take pictures of all of them, but Brian was literally posing for me and when I asked him for one last picture. He took my camera and snapped a selfie (pic on the right). He was so nice and patient with all of us. Coincidentally I posted that same pic of him for his birthday two years ago on twitter and that’s when the Boys official account started following me lol! Brian – if you read this you are compassionate, selfless, caring and talented, a beautiful human being inside and outside, an exemplary father, husband and friend. Happy Birthday may God bless you ALWAYS. – @kaoticbsb_love
It was always at that concert in Lucca. I was completely desperate and sad because I couldn’t do the meet and greet, so the only thing I could do was seeing the concert. I looked at the guys, once they were out. And during one moment of silence (strange right?), I screamed Brian’s name. He looked around, then he saw me waving. What happened? He waved back! – Gaia Ugoletti
Well my girls Jennifer, Stephanie, and Tiffany could probably tell the story better then me since I actually didn’t see it… So during BSB Takes New York, the night before they were on GMA, the boys did a few songs. We were all sitting on the floor there was no chairs or standing. I was sitting on the end of the row and there was a bit of space in front me. So they begin Larger Then Life and suddenly I see AJ run into the audience past us I turn around to look to see where he was going, not realizing the other guys ran into the crowd as well. So I’m looking behind me and suddenly I head my name being called and I don’t think anything of it. But they keep calling me name and started to shake me. Finally I whip my head back around and shout “what!!” Imagine my surprise when I’m staring into the eyes of one Brian Thomas Litrrell!!! Lucky I was sitting down or I would have fallen over. He apparently ran behind AJ and pretty much slid into my lap still singing and I had no clue. Brian had serenaded the back of my head!! I wonder if he still remembers that….i know I’ll never live it down. – Ashley Darpino
Thank you, Brian, for everything you’ve done for us, for the memories you don’t even know you’re making with us, and for blessing us with your talent, your words, and more. You’re a super human. Happy Birthday!

Hey Backstreet Boys, We Miss You. (Seriously.)

Hey Backstreet Boys –

We say it a lot, but we miss you all. We miss Kevin, Howie, Brian, AJ and Nick. We know you’ve heard us say it over and over. We know you think we mean it lightly, but the truth is… it’s serious.

The In A World Like This album release and tour was amazing. It was everything we wanted from the group we’ve loved for years. It was Backstreet, it felt personal, it felt like you all REALLY wanted it. The feelings we got watching the five of you in the London house together, watching the documentary in general, affected us in the biggest way because it confirmed what we all wanted to believe – that the Backstreet Boys are still a family and that you weren’t going anywhere.

Except now you have.

Of course we completely understand breaks. The five of you have families, friends, and lives outside of work. We’re humans too, so we get it. We’re all adults with families, friends and lives of our own.

However, we’re tired of feeling guilty for asking what’s in the works. We’re not trying to be selfish, we’re simply trying to plan our own breaks. We’re trying to spread the word and help you out. If the Backstreet Boys aren’t planning on recording until the end of the year and not touring for another two years, tell us. Keep us in the loop. We’re not asking for constant tour, for another album tomorrow, for three cruises per year – we just want to know you still want it.

The general fan morale is lower than ever and it is, perhaps, because for the first time in a few years, we’re not sure what’s going on. We can’t hype what we don’t know. We can’t get behind something that isn’t there. We can’t get mad at the media for saying Backstreet’s Back when, really, our fab five disappear for months at a time. We can only fight alone so much and we’ll gladly go to war for you if we have something to go to war for.

We’re only asking for the truth. If something has been delayed, tell us. We’ll understand. If something is coming up, tease us – we like getting excited. We are absolutely always here for each of you – individually or group. We’re asking (pleading) for the Backstreet Boys, the band we defend to the end, show up for, root for, to be here for us.

Kevin. Howie. Brian. AJ. Nick. We love each of you, we’ve grown with each of you, we’ve had good times and made great memories with each of you. For some of us, you’ve been the ones to save us. Don’t let us go so easily… because we’re losing touch.

S.O.S, Boys. We’re only trying to hold on.

– The Backstreet Army

For these reasons, I will be slowing down on the amount of WHOTB posts. When not much is happening on the Backstreet, it’s much more difficult to write about it. In recent posts I’ve made, while they were happy and lighthearted, it seems as though they have sometimes made fans a sort of sad, made the unknown worse, and I can’t risk that anymore. I can’t post things we’re hearing that MIGHT happen when they’re, in fact, NOT happening. The Twitter will still be active and of course, there WILL be posts – I’m not going away – but they will be less. I am committed to keeping the Backstreet fans informed, entertained, and hyping the Backstreet Boys as much as I can. I am hopeful and positive that Backstreet will be back….soon. ❤ Sara

If The Backstreet Boys Had Their Own Video Game App…

It’s the new thing for celebrities to do – video game apps. Everyone from the Kardashians to Katy Perry to (very soon) Taylor Swift is launching their own apps and it made us think, if the Backstreet Boys were to go digital, what would the premise of their “game” be? Here’s what I came up with for Backstreet Boys : On Tour. (Future extensions could include Backstreet Boys: Cruise and others!)

Choose Who You Would Play As:

  • Kevin Richardson
  • Brian Littrell
  • Howie D.
  • AJ McLean
  • Nick Carter
  • Backstreet Manager
  • Backstreet Fan

Go On Tour:

The object of the game would simply be to keep up / keep your job / surpass different levels on a Backstreet Boys tour. If you’re playing as a BSB, the goal would be to gain power, win awards, stay healthy and alive.

If you’re playing as a manager, the goal is to simply keep your job.

If you’re playing as a fan, well…you know how that goes. Find the Boys, do some promotion, earn “money” through different tasks and “travel” to different cities, make friends and become well known in the fandom – perhaps even earn a job with the Backstreet Boys. This player mode would also allow you to play along with other fan-friends who are playing the game.

Character Features:

Obviously, there would be benefits, drawbacks, and perks to playing as each character and therefore, why you should play as each of them ….and why you will have no life if this game was ever made. Each character will come with a certain amount of life, meaning, yes, you could kill a Backstreet Boy (and you better be prepared for the guilt because it will be worse than your best friend on Oregon Trail). You can do certain things to “enrich” or increase life and reputation and obviously, things that will decrease it (like going out without a bodyguard). Here are just a few features we feel are necessary for different players:

If you play as Kevin:

Increase your reputation by tweeting at least 20 emojis to 10 different fans every night on tour.

Plant a tree at every tour stop (but make sure it’s in a legal spot or you will decrease your rep).

Increase life by making it on the bus in time or finding a bar to watch Kentucky games.

Complete tasks of perfectly tuning keyboards to earn more points. (Not sure what the points do, but they will do something!)

If you play as Howie:

Increase your reputation by attending every afterparty and making sure the crowd stays hype. Taking selfies with fans earns extra points.

Upon gaining eye contact with a fan, winking will automatically make that fan yours. (Gaining individual fans is totally a thing in this game.)

Taking shots at a bar will either increase your life or decrease it based on what caliber club you decide to make an appearance at.

Earn points for every second you can tolerate Nick or Brian poking you.

If you play as Brian:

Earn points everytime you jump from a structure – the higher, the more your life increases. If you don’t land properly, it will result in a significant decrease in life. If you knock someone’s head off, it will result in a lawsuit and you will not be able to perform this task any longer.

Earn fans everytime you surprise people by showing up at an afterparty.

Buying a new pair of sneakers will increase life everytime – the more colorful, the better.

Increase life everytime you goof off without getting caught.

If you play as AJ:

Increase life / reputation by taking selfies. The more comments / likes you get on Instagram, the better your rep. You may also earn fans.

Watch episodes of Friends to increase life.

Every conversation you have with fans that last over 2 minutes will automatically earn you those fans.

Getting new tattoos will increase life. Getting tattoos removed or infected will decrease it.

If you play as Nick:

You increase life significantly if you stay un-sick for more than three weeks at a time on tour. Your life will decrease with sickness less significantly than if you are playing as others. It’s not your fault this character comes with no immune system.

Points given for however long you spend in the gym every morning and life increased by taking wheatgrass shots.

Earn points and fans everytime you change your hairstyle depending on the response of fans. Work extra hard to convince them they love it.

Increase life for completing every work task you take on (album, movie, etc.) WARNING: The longer you take to complete these tasks will increase irrational fans and decrease life due to exhaustion.

If you play as BSB Manager:

The object here is to keep your job and stay alive.

Earn points / money for how quickly you wrangle all five and get them to understand what they’re doing.

Trick: You can not get BSB somewhere on time or early – that will actually work against you.

Increase job performance by keeping good fan relations. The more communication with fans, the better.

If you play as a BSB Fan:

This is basically your life during tour season. You know what to do and you will OWN this. You can increase your “level” in the fandom by making connections and being efficient. Careful though, trying too hard may result in a decrease in reputation if things go awry.

Perform odd job tasks to increase money to buy more tickets, merch, VIP, etc. All of these things will increase life and potentially level you up, depending on what you do at the concert.

Use you super CIA skills to find hints and clues about where a Backstreet Boy may be. Earn points if you find them, but be aware, approaching them in a not-great situation may tank your points / power. If the Boy has a positive interaction with you, getting selfies, autographs, etc. will increase life and level.

Sharing with other fans. The more you share from your experiences, the more connections you make, the more points you get and the more fun it is. Again, if you have other actual friends playing the game, you can find them at different tour stops and work together – increasing life, creating memories and more!

This game isn’t real…yet. But don’t you want to play?!

5 More Men That Love The Backstreet Boys

Last year around Valentine’s Day, we brought you husbands and boyfriends that shared a love (or secret love) for the Backstreet Boys with their wives / girlfriends (HERE). This year, we asked you again – do you have a boyfriend / husband / man friend that loves the Boys from the Backstreet? Oh yeah, you do.

“My boyfriend and father of my girls has admitted that he thinks some of their songs are good. He actually sat down and watched Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of (documentary) with me and laughed at some funny moments! I’d say he’s got some Backstreet love kept secret! Also, he’s probably realized that 5 other guys have a piece of my heart…so he just has to Roll With It! No pun intended.” – @krissylu2015

“My husband laughed out loud when we met and heard I was a BSB fan.  It lasted a few years. Then we moved in together and since this day he has no choice than listening to them. Not saying he is a fan, but, as I talk about them very often, he knows the history of the group. Of course he now knows the songs and sing them with me in the car. He has his favorite ones – like “Madeleine”. His fave Boy is AJ. In 2014, he came to a show with me … But he said “Never again. Too much girls screaming. I’m afraid”. I would say he isn’t going to encounter anymore now. Even though, he is still jealous of Nick!” – @Looloot23

“He says he doesn’t like them but he knows every word of ‘Larger than Life’ and ‘I Want It That Way’. However, I can’t play BSB in my car when he’s in it. So…I don’t know for sure if he is a fan. I’m lucky that my 6 and 3 year old daughters are!” – @Dutchbackstreet

“I am proud to say that I converted my male bestie into a full-fledged bsb fanboy. I have been a fan since I was 8 but last April I became re-obsessed with the boys. Of course my bestie was one of the first people I told about it, and he was accepting of it. Then I went to his house and all I wanted to do was watch concerts or funny bsb videos on YouTube, and he gladly obliged. Once I started buying concert DVDs he would always ask me to bring them over so we could watch them together, he said he enjoyed watching me fangirl and he’s always been super supportive of whatever I like. Then He texted me saying that Larger Than Life was stuck in his head and that he recognized IWITW on Grand Theft Auto. We sang IWITW at karaoke with friends even though he didn’t really know the words. Somewhere along the way he became a fan of the boys too, and now he gets just as excited as I do when he hears about a new TV appearance or album news, or solo projects. He says the moment he knew he was a fan was when he started singing the songs in his head. There is no greater feeling as a fangirl then when someone who wasn’t originally a fan tells you that they became a fan because of you. Although let’s be honest after watching the boys perform acapella and just be their goofy selves how could you NOT become a fan? I told him how I felt bad that I had been a fan for so long but never been to a concert and how badly I wanted to do VIP, he said he would love to go to my first concert with me and he has a special savings account called the concert fund and is looking forward to it just as much as I am. Just the other day he told me that Frick and Frack were mentioned in a TV show he watches and he instantly thought of Nick and Brian. Then one day he said he had a surprise for me that would make me love the boys even more. The next time I went over to his house he handed me a plastic bin and it had all the Burger King toys in it along with a mini millennium poster of AJ and a VHS tape. I freaked when I saw them. He told me that his best friend Sterling had found them at a garage sale and since he had been over one time while we were watching a concert and knew how much I loved bsb that he bought them for Jeff to give to me. Then he had his mom come in to help him unveil the second part of the surprise. She went and got something big covered in a blanket, and when I saw what was behind it I went into total fangirl mode. It was a large framed poster from the Millennium era, not just any poster though; a SIGNED poster. I literally screamed when I noticed the signatures.” – @believer48

“My husband (we were engaged back then) came to the concert in Tampa on August 23rd 2013 with me… he claims he doesn’t like them but he was singing along pretty much all the songs… He has two favorite songs that sings all the time (I have a video of him singing one while we were on FaceTime-took it using my sneaky skills lol) ‘Show Me The Meaning’ and ‘Madeleine’. He came to see the preview of “Show Em What You’re Made Of” in Brandon, Fl on Jan 29th 2015 and we still talk about the movie every now and then, he really enjoyed it. He bought the tickets and is willing to go to see Nick in Raleigh, VIP included… Unfortunately I don’t think my green card will make it in time. Anyway, it’s funny how often I catch him singing their songs when I’m not playing them… And I didn’t brainwash him, he just can’t help it! And I’m so proud!” – @AlexSeiya_

(I wasn’t able to upload the video, but trust me, Alex’s husband is hardcore!)

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!

5 Times Brian Littrell Proved He Has A Huge Heart

A few weeks ago, Brian’s wife, Leighanne, posted the above photo on Instagram. The Littrells, who are living in NYC for the time being, were in the city when a blizzard hit. When we posted the picture on the WHOTB Facebook, comments poured in – people were inspired to do good. People proclaimed that this is a giant reason they look up to Mr.Littrell, and we couldn’t agree more. We said everything we were thinking above, but it’s not the first time we’ve seen Brian go out of his way to be kind to strangers, to be giving of his time, and to be selfless.

1. That Time He Helped A Man With His Mailbox.

“Husband stopped to help a man having a hard time lifting his mailbox back up! What an awesome husband! GratefulChirp!”

2. That Time He Volunteered Time To “Perform” At A School For The Principal’s Retirement.

3. That Time He Visited Children In The Hospital.

4. That Time He Helped The Crew Tear Down After A Show And Gave Them Credit.

And not just for BSB….

5. That Time He Took Part In A 9-11 Memorial And Held A Flag For Danny Lee, A BSB Crew Member Who Was Killed on 9-11.

Brian Littrell never toots his own horn, so we’ll do it for him. Of course he’s not perfect – who is? However, he is continually inspiring people with his actions, with his heart, and with his words. He reminds us that life is short and you should appreciate the things you have. He reminds us that it never hurts anyone to be a kind human being and these are only a few examples. Thank you, Brian, for going above and beyond for us and for others. There are endless stories from fans alone about what an inspiration you’ve been, kind things you’ve done, and more. You’re a blessing.

We’re beyond lucky that the five men that make up the Backstreet Boys are five men that we can be proud of for one reason or another.

Be inspired. Be kind. Pay it forward.

57 Thoughts We All Had Watching Nick Carter’s “19 In 99” Music Video

Nick’s video for “19 In 99” dropped on Friday and we really had to watch it more than once to take it all in. DILF status, a trunk full of 1999, rooftop dancing, and…an oddly familiar pizza boy? It makes us wanna go back in time….

  1. Is that a giant map on the wall behind Nerd Nick?
  2. That is a tall ass stack of papers he has to get through.
  3. Does Nick Carter even know how to get through papers? Is it really a comic book?
  4. Glasses, suspenders, and a tie have never been so hot.
  5. Anyone else have the urge to snap those suspenders against him?
  7. YOU GUYS – He sounds like such a DAD!!!
  8. “Your daddy hates sand getting in between his toes.” WHO is this guy and what has he done with Nick?
  9. That boy is so Nick-looking it’s crazy!
  10. 30 seconds in and we already want this to be a full length movie with this family.
  11. “I’ll show you who used to be fun…” SHOW US, NERD NICK! SHOW US!
  12. Doesn’t him showing US defeat the purpose of proving it to his kids?
  13. Mixing cereals is SERIOUS biz.
  14. SYRUP! Buddy The Elf would be proud.
  15. Oh hello, Balmain Nick-on-a-roof!
  16. What sort of tiny closet is that?! Nick’s bigger than that closet!
  17. Oh, a trunk of 1999 stuff? You got any Backstreet Boys in there, Nick?
  18. What does one do with a helmet that says Millennium? Was that in case of Y2K?
  19. Is he making anyone else nervous on that roof? One slip and boom, it’s raining Nick.
  20. Stop. This look by the pool. YOU STOP IT RIGHT NOW, NICK CARTER.
  21. Tupac-inspired Nick. Ghetto fab.
  22. Why the hell are these walls so BLUE!?
  23. We’re now all wondering if our dads were dancing on the roof when we left with our moms….
  24. Every wall in this house is blue.
  25. It’s completely believe that Nick sits around dressed like a scuba diver, actually.
  26. Anyone else obsessed with his full-teeth smile?
  27. Please note that his shirt says “Sun’s Out, Guns Out.” Guns out, tongues out.
  28. 1:41 into the video and we haven’t seen Nick look bad ONCE. He literally went back to 1999. But better.
  29. This is NOT the first time we’ve seen Nick with a giant bag of popcorn (flashback to Lauren on the IAWLT tour). Where does he get this giant popcorn load? Does he rob movie theaters on the regular?
  30. The furniture in this house is strange.
  31. Nick has SUPER nice legs. Thank you, Sharna.
  32. Is this mess giving anyone else anxiety? It’s like when you read that Cat In The Hat book.
  33. Nick sounds oddly like a rooster when he yells….and convulses a little bit.
  34. That pouting and throwing popcorn down, that’s going to be his child.
  35. WAIT! How did that popcorn get back in the bag?! Did he get a new bag??
  37. He got so much air jumping off the couch! Brian would be proud.
  38. HEEYYY!! That pizza guy – we know him, right?!
  39. It…who…puts poptarts on a pizza? WHO!?
  40. Nick actually looks like 19 year old Nick with a backwards hat on. Maybe we should start eating poptart pizza.
  41. Why are there so many vitamins in his open cabinet??
  42. And alcohol in the corner. And a blender. And a coffee maker.
  43. What does “3..2..3” have to do with anything? Someone tell me.
  44. It’s raining behind him in the pool. Yet he’s not wet. Magic Nick.
  45. Why is pizza guy AJ eating his own pizza?
  46. AJ is like an annoying Sim character who won’t get off your property.
  47. How can Nick wear white pants and look flawless but we wear white pants and look like a bag of sugar?
  48. His amount of balance in this video (back of couch, on the roof, etc.) is ASTOUNDING.
  49. Peace out, creeper AJ!
  50. That floppy hat brings back a lot of Tiger Beat memories, Nick.
  51. DRINKING GAME: Everytime Nick holds up 9 fingers in this video.
  52. That was the most emphatic “let’s go” arm I have ever seen.
  54. Doesn’t everyone light their cigars with a candle lighter? With flippers on? I’ll bet Kevin does.
  55. This is literally the best thing we’ve seen in a LONG time. SILLY STRING FOR EVERYONE!
  56. We’re seriously back in 1999.
  57. Where’s Carson Daly to tell us this video is in at #1?

Zero Reasons You’re A Bad Backstreet Fan

It happens everytime the Backstreet Boys do something new.

Fan Guilt.

You can’t afford this event. You can’t swing the VIP. The tour isn’t coming close to you and traveling is out of the question because you’re enjoying a super busy year already.

These are all legit reasons for you not being able to do something, but there’s always that nagging feeling that you HAVE to make it happen. Why? Because if you don’t make it happen, you’ll be a bad fan.

Let me tell you – that is ridiculous.

After nearly 23 years, Kevin, Brian, Howie, Nick and AJ are more than grateful for each and every one of us. It’s not how many events you go to, how much money you spend, how many selfies you’ve collected – it’s about making the most of the moments you have. If you think the Backstreet Boys are going to think less of you because they’re going to magically find out when you show up to a concert that you have never been in a VIP, don’t know the lyrics to every solo album backward and forward, you’re wrong.

At the end of the day, these five men show up to make music. They show up, they record, they choose songs that they think the world and fans would enjoy. Listening, supporting, and appreciating the music is really all that’s required of being a fan, when you get down to it.

Stop beating yourself up for the things you don’t do!

That being said, it’s pretty obvious that fan guilt is most likely transmitted by other fans. Fans who think it’s “absolutely insane” that you haven’t been to a VIP. Fans who think “if you work hard enough”, you can more than afford the cruise. Of course, there is NOTHING wrong with doing these things and if you have the opportunity, the means, and the time to do them – by all means, do them! Enjoy yourself! Share all of the stories and photos so that others can live vicariously through your adventures.

But, please, stop fan shaming.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Everyone also has their own priorities. Stop assuming just because other fans aren’t doing certain things that they don’t have the means to do them. Stop assuming that they’re not doing them because one of the Boys isn’t involved. Stop assuming. Stop throwing shade. Stop inciting fan guilt. Stop making people feel bad. It’s not good or productive for anyone. If it really bothers you so bad that you feel you need to say unsolicited things, address the “situation” directly. Get to know someone.

What are we doing, guys? We’ve all grown up together. We’ve all been through major Backstreet milestones together. Why in the world would we be throwing such hatred toward each other? Why would any of us act better than the others? There’s no reason.

Build each other. Share your stories. Share your photos. Share your love. We’re all we have to keep the Backstreet pride alive. Enjoy it!
